Elroy Air has built an autonomous cargo VTOL (vertical takeoff and landing) drone that can carry payloads up to 500lbs with a range of 300 miles. Elroy Air founder David Merril sold his last company to 3DR and has put together a UAV ‘dream team’ from places like Airware, 3DR, Google Wing, and Uber freight. Its aircraft have multiple applications, including commercial, military, and humanitarian aid.
